<image:caption>PTSD Complex trauma Adult survivors of childhood abuse and illness Grief and loss Medical and disability trauma My fundamental belief in working with trauma is that, despite our wounds, there is a place in each of us that can never be harmed. This place is known and felt, but it’s hard to put into words. When I work with clients, I hold this whole, perfect, and complete place in my awareness. Since trauma is locked in the cells and tissues of the body, I have found that the most effective treatments address the body’s response, which talk therapy alone does not do. Some of the trauma informed, evidence-based therapies I utilize to help calm our nervous systems are: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Trauma-Focused CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) i.e. tapping on acupressure points Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Reichian Breath and Bodywork Somatic Experiencing</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - KAP EMDR</image:title>
<image:caption>Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is an integrative modality in which ketamine is used as a complement to psychotherapy to help address treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and emotional distress. As a trauma therapist, I have found that evidence-based, attachment focused EMDR paired with KAP can be a powerful tool for healing. Patients have reported feeling clarity, a stronger sense of self, and rapid and sustained improvement in symptoms. I have been working long-term with a medical doctor who will provide a medical intake to determine eligibility and, if approved, prescribe a low-dose oral ketamine lozenges. Over the course of several weeks, we will establish a care plan and engage in prep, integration, and multiple 2-hour KAP EMDR sessions. I have been an EMDR therapist for over twenty years and have been working in the psychedelic field for over four years. Quite frankly, in this span of time, I have not found anything more effective in treating trauma than EMDR and psychedelics.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Nothing is more desirable than to be released from an affliction, but nothing is more frightening than to be divested of a crutch. ~ James Baldwin Substance Use Disorder Process addictions Any kind of problematic behavior When people ask me what “harm reduction” is, I answer by way of example: harm reduction is wearing a seatbelt, a helmet, a condom. All of these things reduce, but do not eliminate, the possibility of harm. At the heart of harm reduction is a compassionate commitment to positive change, without stigma, punishment, or an all-or-nothing philosophy.</image:caption>

<image:caption>What we are teaches the child far more than what we say, so we must be what we want our children to become. ~Joseph Chilton Pearce Attachment parenting Adoption (including transracial adoption) Alternative families Parents of children with chronic medical conditions LGBTQIA+ parenting issues My parenting philosophy is that our most important job as parents is to teach our children resilience, rather than to focus on short-term happiness. Most parents would agree that our kids are overwhelmed and have too much stuff. We need to give our children the tools to cope with boredom, disappointment, frustration, envy, and sadness. In this manner, they learn how to self-regulate and self-soothe. My work focuses on helping you move beyond shame/blame communication with your children and on supporting your children as original and open-minded thinkers. As Margaret Mead states, “Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - In over 30 years of work, I have found that our deepest wounds are also our deepest blessings—a gift to ourselves and our communities. In psychedelic spaces, this notion of ‘wound to blessing’ often comes up as gratitude. In a non-directive approach, I support clients to embody their inner healing intelligence, their heart and wisdom.</image:title>

<image:caption>“Sometimes I can't get through the day without unwanted memories crashing in all around me. Other times I can only face the world if I put up a wall.” “I feel ashamed, lost, untrusting.” Does this sound familiar? You survived the traumatic event of your past. Now what's next? Are you ready to move from surviving to thriving? Find and nurture resilience, self compassion, and clarity of mind regarding the narrative of harm. Take yourself beyond survival to true healing. Rediscover that part of yourself that is whole, perfect and complete.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Group Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>PHASE I - GETTING THE TRAUMA TOOLS A Trauma Recovery Toolkit We develop powerful recovery tools to connect and integrate our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and somatic experiences. This prepares us to release the pain and shame that binds us to the past. We use mindfulness, cognitive behavioral techniques, EMDR and Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping), Nonviolent Communication, positive psychology, and mind-body healing modalities. We incorporate weekly themes and trauma literature. PHASE II - TELLING OUR STORIES A New Perspective on the Narrative of Harm With a stronger self and the support of others, we retell our trauma stories, allowing us to move forward without feeling haunted by our past. Each participant takes a session to tell their unique story. Our new toolkit empowers us to address negative beliefs and emotional dysregulation in the body. In re-telling our stories, we take away, sometimes for the first time, shame’s power to destroy our lives. Shame cannot remain once spoken. We not only establish a new outlook but also a new way of looking within ourselves. PHASE III - WORKING IN THE HERE-AND-NOW An Interpersonal Process Group In our final phase, we explore our relationships with group members by learning to give and receive feedback. By resolving interpersonal patterns that get in the way of vulnerability and intimacy, we find new ways of creating vital connections and nourishing relationships. WHERE: Hybrid TeleMental Health and In-Person FEE: $85 per 90 minute session DETAILS: A phone screen and two intake interviews required. Ongoing individual therapy recommended.</image:caption>
